NEW DELHI: Legendary Pakistani pacer Wasim Akram met young Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma following India’s match versus Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Akram commended Abhishek for his outstanding 135-run knock in the fifth Twenty20 International against England at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and counseled him to maintain his concentration.
The highest individual score by an Indian men’s player in the shortest format, Abhishek’s record-breaking knock came off just 54 deliveries.
The 24-year-old scored 279 runs at an average of 55.80 and a strike rate of 219.68, including a century and a fifty, to finish the five-match T20I series as the top run scorer.
