We’re already at the midway point of the TSSAA girls basketball season in the Knoxville area and you have the power to select the top player in the area at midseason.

Here are the 12 candidates to choose from:
Maddie Braden, CAK: Braden is among the top scorers in the Knoxville area, averaging 19.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.1 steals and two assists.
Avery Brewer, Central: Brewer has made life difficult for opposing defense averaging 24 points for the Bobcats.
Gwen Carroll, Alcoa: Carroll is pacing the Tornado with a 15.8-point average to go along with 5.6 rebounds and two steals.
Kyla Collins, Union County: Only a freshman, Collins leads the team in scoring (18.1) while also adding four rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2.3 steals and is shooting 80% from the free-throw line.
Meeyah Green, Webb: After helping Webb reach the Division II-AA state championship game last year, Green is avearging 13 points, seven rebounds, 4.1 assists and one steal this season.
Natalya Hodge, Bearden: The Bulldogs star is among the top scorers in the state. Hodge is averaging 26.4 points along with 3.9 steals, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
Maria Lyde, Greeneville: Lyde leads Greeneville in scoring, averaging 15.5 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 steals and two blocks.
Amaya Redd, Catholic: Redd, whose Catholic team beat Webb in the DII-AA title game in 2024, is averaging 17.1 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.9 steals.
Rylee Roberts, Karns: Rylee Roberts, Reese’s twin sister, leads the team with 15.2 points, four rebounds and 2.6 steals this season.
Payton Rollins, South-Doyle: Rollins has had an impressive first-half of the season averaging 18.9 points 4.9 rebounds, 2.6 steals and 2.5 assists.
Carsyn Swaney, Heritage: Swaney is the team’s leading scorer, averaging 19.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and two assists.
Skylar Walden, The King’s Academy: The point guard is averaging 17.4 points, 4.8 assists and 4.4 rebounds this season.
