With the high school boys basketball season reaching midseason, here are some Upstate players to watch as teams head down the stretch. The playoffs will begin Feb. 17 and state championships will be held March 6-8 in Florence. Statistics are through Jan. 12.
Paul Bishop, Blue Ridge, Sr.: Bishop is averaging 16.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.6 steals.
Ty’Korian Campbell, Blue Ridge, Jr: Campbell is averaging 11.6 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.5 steals.
Damarius Jeter, Broome, Jr.: Jeter averages 14 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.4 steals and 2.7 assists.
Colt Fowler, Byrnes, So.: Fowler leads the state, according to MaxPreps, with 12.1 assists per game and is also the team’s leading scorer at 18.1 points with 5.4 rebounds.
Sukhi Singh, Byrnes, Jr.: Singh averages 14.9 points per game.
Elijah Brown, Chesnee, Jr.: Brown averages 22.1 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists.
David Dixon, Christ Church, Jr.: Dixon averages 13.6 points.
Jonathan Perry, Christ Church, Jr.: Perry averages 12 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists.
Tristyn Carrington, Daniel, Sr.: Carrington averages 14.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
Ethan Crews, Easley, Sr.: Crews averages 19.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
