Union City H.S. listed among best high schools by U.S. News and World Report

UNION CITY, Tenn. (KFVS) – U.S. News and World Report has listed Union City High School as a 2023 Best High School for the ninth consecutive year in its annual rankings of high schools across America.

According to a release, UCHS earned a national ranking in the top 40 percent, among more than 18,000 rated high schools in the country.

Because of this achievement, the school received the “US News Best High School” designation and the opportunity to prominently display a UC News-trademarked “Best High Schools” banner.

UCHS has earned the honor every year since 2015.

The school ranked 40th among 462 Tennessee High Schools on the list and had an overall ranking of 82.62. UCHS was the third smallest school among the Top 40.

According to the release, schools are ranked based on their performance on state-required tests, graduation rates and how well they prepare students for college.
