Radlett Lawn Tennis & Squash Club (RLTSC) recently held their annual championships.
Over the weekend of Saturday, August 31, and Sunday, September 1, members gathered to compete in both singles and doubles tournaments, divided into men’s, women’s and mixed categories.
In a well-contested final in the men’s singles contest, it was Jed Gaffin who claimed the trophy in a match against Brian Klitzner.
However, despite making it to the men’s doubles final with his partner Richard Deem, Jed had to settle for just the one victory, after the duo lost to Simon Gaffin and Sean Wilkins.
Aileen Barber was the player who had the most success over the weekend. She won the women’s doubles tournament alongside her partner Claire Booth, and also claimed the mixed doubles crown as part of a pairing with her son, Adam.
Following the event, joint head coach at RLTSC Chris Martin said: “There were fantastic matches on show throughout, so well done to all our finalists who competed on the day.”
