A new report has revealed that women’s Internet adoption on mobile phones has reached 37 per cent in India, while adoption among men has remained steady, narrowing the gender gap from 40 per cent to 30 per cent. In 2023, an additional 120 million women globally connected to the Internet via mobile devices. The report, conducted by the GSMA, a global organisation representing mobile network operators worldwide, highlights that more women in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) are using mobile Internet than ever before, with a total of 1.5 billion (66 per cent) accessing it.
LG Electronics has introduced its latest iteration of artificial intelligence (AI) TVs in various sizes ranging from 43 inches to 97 inches in India. The 2024 lineup comprises LG OLED evo AI and LG QNED AI TVs, with offerings such as the LG OLED 97G4. The new lineup starts at a price of Rs 62,990. Additionally, the company emphasised that the latest OLED AI TVs boast enhanced AI upscaling capabilities, enriching and refining objects and backgrounds through precise pixel-level image analysis for enhanced picture quality. Using AI technology, LG OLED AI TVs deliver a clearer, more dynamic viewing experience and provide real-time upscaling even while watching sub-4K OTT content.

In the first quarter of 2024 (1Q24), India’s smartphone market witnessed shipment of 34 million smartphones, marking an 11.5 per cent year-over-year (YoY) growth, a new report by the International Data Corporation (IDC) says. IDC’s Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker adds that this is the third consecutive quarter of shipment growth in the country.

OnePlus on Wednesday announced that its flagship OnePlus 12 and OnePlus Open will be among the first smartphones to get the new Android 15 Beta 1 update. Starting May 16 (Thursday), developers and early adopters can try out the new features and APIs on their OnePlus devices by accessing the developer version of OxygenOS, which is built around Android 15 Beta 1.
