Two individuals in the United Kingdom suspected of running a criminal crypto asset business valued at US$1.2 billion have been arrested by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). These individuals are believed to have traded unregistered cryptocurrency worth over one billion pounds within the same business. Executing search warrants on premises linked to these individuals, the FCA took control of mobile gadgets used by these individuals, according to sources privy to the matter. Starting in January 2021, all crypto asset exchange operators have had an obligation to register with the FCA and observe anti-money laundering laws.
