Major Indian IT companies, including Infosys, Wipro, TCS, and HCLTech, reported muted third-quarter results in January but provided optimistic forecasts for fresher hiring in FY26. Infosys plans to hire 20,000 freshers, up from 15,000 this year, while Wipro aims to recruit 10,000-12,000 new graduates. TCS will increase its fresher hiring from 40,000 in FY25 to meet higher growth prospects. HCLTech reduced its fresher hiring target to 7,000 from 10,000, with 6,000 already hired. The push for fresher hiring reflects the sector’s focus on cost reduction and bringing in flexible, tech-savvy talent.
