BOSTON – Aiming for its seventh Patriot League title and seventh NCAA berth in 11 years, the top-seeded Boston University women’s tennis team will open the conference tournament with a Friday morning match against No. 8 Lafayette in the quarterfinals. First serve is set for 8:30 a.m. at the Fluegel-Moore Tennis Stadium in Annapolis, Md. 
 
The other two teams on BU’s side of the bracket, No. 4 Loyola Maryland and No. 5 Lehigh, will play Friday at 10:15 a.m. On the other side of the bracket, No. 3 Army West Point plays No. 6 Colgate at 12:45 p.m. and #2 Navy faces #7 Bucknell at 3:15 p.m.
 
TERRIER TIDBITS

• BU is 13-7 overall and 5-0 in league play this season. It is also on a four-match winning streak.
• The Terriers notably upset then-No. 55 FAU 4-3 to highlight their out of conference play.
• Senior Victoria Carlsten is 2-0 in league singles play from the No. 1 spot and boasts a 5-0 doubles record in conference. Carlsten is a two-time Patriot League player of the week this season. 
• Freshman Uma Bakaityte, who won the last two player of the week awards, is 5-0 in conference singles competition and 4-1 in conference doubles.
• Senior Kaitlin Tan is also undefeated in Patriot League singles with a 4-0 record of her own.
• Junior Nina Gulbransen and Carlsten lead BU in conference doubles play with a 4-0 record. The duo is currently on a three-match winning streak.
• Bakaityte and fellow freshman Blanka DeMicheli are 3-1 against conference opponents in doubles play and most recently clinched the doubles point against both Lehigh and Army West Point.

 
Entering Friday’s match, the Leopards are 12-12 after defeating No. 9 Holy Cross in the opening round of the tournament 4-0. In the regular season, they went 1-5 in conference play.
