On May 30, ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin won her injunction against HYBE. As per the court’s ruling, HYBE could not use its 80% shareholder voting rights to force Min Hee-jin out of ADOR during the shareholders meeting. So, while two directors of ADOR were fired during the meeting that was held on May 31, Min Hee-jin was able to retain her position as the CEO of ADOR.
SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi has purchased a luxurious house in Seoul’s Brighton N40 for a staggering 5.086 billion KRW (Rs 30 crore), all in cash. With this purchase, Hoshi has reportedly become the youngest homeowner among those who acquired residences from the Brighton N40 developer.
Kep1er will be continuing as 7 members. On May 30, WAKEONE announced that 7 of the 9 Kep1er members had agreed to extend their contracts with the label. “We are pleased to announce that the company and members of Mnet’s project group Kep1er—Yujin, Xiaoting, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih and Youngeun—have agreed to renew the contract to extend group promotions. Thus, Kep1er will continue promotions as a seven-member group after the project term has expired,” the label’s official statement read.
Unfortunately, Mashiro and Yeseo did not renew their contracts with WAKEONE. They will be returning to their label 143 Entertainment.
Apple TV+ has finally announced that Pachinko will be returning with its long-awaited second season on August 23, 2024. Based on the best-selling novel of the same name, the K-drama is a multi-generational saga of war-peace, love-separation and victory-judgment that spans across Korea, Japan and the United States. Directed by Kogonada and Justin Chon, Pachinko stars Youn Yuh-jung, Lee Min-ho and Kim Min-ha in pivotal roles.
