AJ Dybantsa narrowed his list of future college basketball homes to seven.
The 17-year-old high school basketball star from Brockton announced on Friday that he will decide between Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, BYU, Kansas, Kansas State and North Carolina. ESPN first reported the news and it was confirmed by The Enterprise.
Dybantsa, the nation’s No. 1 recruit in the Class of 2025, will make his decision in February.
His father Ace told The Enterprise that education, family, winning, tough coaching and “last but not least” N.I.L. (name, image likeness) opportunities are important to Dybantsa in the selection process.

Having just returned home from the Nike Peach Jam circuit at the end of July, Dybantsa was in Hurricane, Utah on Wednesday, practicing with his new high school team, Utah Prep. He will fly to Shanghai for a tournament this weekend and schedule college visits at the end of this month amidst trips to the Boys and Girls Clubs in Brockton and Boston to give away bikes and school supplies on August 28-29.
