MANILA – Leading basketball coaches from the amateur and professional ranks are featured in the Milcu Sports and Got Skills clinic on March 30 at the Greenhills West Clubhouse in San Juan City.
Leo Austria and Norman Black will share their knowledge and experiences with basketball enthusiasts and aspiring coaches in the event organized by Allen Ricardo.
Austria, who led San Miguel to nine titles in the PBA, will talk about “My Secondary Breaks” at 11 a.m. while Black, one of the most dominant imports in the PBA with 11 titles including a rare Grand Slam in 1989 with San Miguel, will discuss “Defensive team concepts to help your team” at 2 p.m.
Bryan Cay, Letran’s strength and conditioning coach, will kick off the clinic at 7 a.m. talking about useful drills that can help in conditioning the players before, during, and after games, University of Perpetual Help System DALTA junior basketball coach Joph Cloepas will explain half-court executions at 9 a.m.
Rain or Shine head coach Yeng Guiao will also attend the clinic along with NLEX head coach Jong Uichico, former PBA coach Alex Compton and former National University women’s basketball coach Patrick Aquino.
Uichico will discuss various ball screen defense and rotation, Compton will talk about pressure defense and Aquino will speak about disruptive press. (PNA)
