The Israeli military on Tuesday (Aug 27) rescued a 52-year-old hostage from the captivity of Hamas. The hostage, identified as Qaid Farhan al-Qadi, had been in Hamas’ captivity since October 7 last year. Al-Qadi is in good health and is currently undergoing additional health checks at an undisclosed hospital.
In other news, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin days after his historic visit to war-torn Ukraine. Prime Minister Modi said that his talks (with Putin) focused on the Russia-Ukraine war “and my insights from the recent visit to Ukraine”
Meanwhile, in another development, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that recently, his military carried out the first successful test of a domestically-produced ballistic missile.
