The weapon used in the attack was recovered from a bin in Solingen city centre. In other news, Russia and Ukraine are set to exchange 115 prisoners each on Saturday (Aug 24), following the United Arab Emirates (UAE) mediated negotiations, an Emirati official said, as reported by Reuters.

Russia and Ukraine swapped 115 prisoners each on Saturday (Aug 24), following the United Arab Emirates (UAE) mediated negotiations. This marks the first such prisoner swap since Ukraine launched its counter-offensive in Russia in August.  

French authorities were pursuing a terror angle in a car explosion incident that took place outside a synagogue in the southern French town of La Grande-Motte on Saturday (Aug 24).
