Discovering our Spotify wrapped is a highlight of our December. Seeing the past 12 months all wrapped up into a playful snapshot with an accompanying whimsical label like ‘pink pilates princess’ (guilty) or ‘vampire football rap’ – what’s not to love? We’ve long wished we could receive a similar annual summary for other aspects of our life. Though we dread to think how many times we used the phrase ‘I hope this email finds you well’ during work correspondence…
Luckily, the social shopping app Like To Know It – better known as LTK – has done just that. The Cosmopolitan UK Fashion Team has got the inside scoop on exactly what the top fashion items bought by LTK shoppers over the past year are. It’s Spotify wrapped, but make it fashion.
As much as we’re just nosy, knowing what people shopped in 2024 is a great way to predict what the biggest fashion trends of 2025 are going to be, too. So without further ado, scroll on to see the official most bought fashion items of the last year.
Black ankle boots are a wardrobe essential, IMO. While we’ve seen kitten heels and pointed-toe designs grow in popularity as of late, it doesn’t get more classic than a round-toe Chelsea silhouette on a stacked, chunky lug sole. A timeless buy you can wear throughout 2025, too.
We’ve been spoiled for choice when it comes to jeans trends this year. From barrel to wide-leg, the different leg silhouettes alone have been overwhelming, without even mentioning wash or design details. But, we’ve found ourselves repeatedly turning back to our trusty straight-leg styles. They’ll never not be on trend.
When it comes to fashion trainers, there are so many different brands, styles and colours to choose from making them one of our most shopped categories. We’re not surprised a pair made it into the top five, and after Rishi Sunak ruined Adidas Sambas back in April (throwback!) we’re not surprised it’s the Handball Spezial that’s scooped the most popular trainer spot. We’ll definitely be wearing these throughout 2025.
Puffer jackets and faux fur coats dominated winter coat trends this autumn winter fashion szn, and this Goldbergh design combines both trends in one! Win-win. If you’re off on a ski holiday in the new year, this coat definitely belongs on your packing list. And even if you’re not, baltic weather conditions mean we’ll be living in this through to March.
Abercrombie & Fitch’s Sloane Pants are loved by fashion editors and influencers alike. But, it’s the brand’s ‘Curve Love’ fit that’s a real game changer. Designed with a little extra room in the hips and thighs while keeping the waist snug, A&F has essentially solved the problem of the annoying waist gap experienced by all curvy gals. Yep, these trousers have well and truly earned a spot in the top 5 fashion buys. We’ll take one in every colour pls.
