Top Tech Yorkshire 2025, in partnership with TheBusinessDesk.com, is once again looking to showcase Yorkshire’s cutting-edge companies which have put the region on the map as a hub for technological development and innovation.
Top Tech, which is being officially launched today at Leeds Digital Festival, is open to companies in the region which have developed world-leading technology, are disrupting markets and whose technology and services are helping others become leaders in their fields.
Last run in 2020, the revamped Top Tech is now offering this year’s cohort the opportunity to become members of a unique programme in the region’s eco-system.
As members, tech companies will gain access to a structured networking and mentoring programme. This will include networking with the tech sector’s leading service providers including investors, funders, corporate finance advisers, accountants, lawyers, patent attorneys, recruiters, and entrepreneurs, who can help them to navigate the next phase of development.
There will also be events for member-to-member networking and profile-raising opportunities through multiple channels including PR and social media.
Top Tech will be a thriving community of members, mentors and supporters. The members will include the ambitious tech businesses who have made it into the Top Tech. Our mentors and supporters have been carefully selected and represent some of the region’s leading technology entrepreneurs, advisers and service providers. These include:
As in previous years, this year’s cohort of member businesses in the Top Tech programme will be asked to provide a submission which explores how their businesses harness technological innovation, leadership, growth and financial performance, client service, and delivery and employee engagement. These submissions will be reviewed by the mentor panel and the “Top Tech Yorkshire” report will then be produced, offering profile raising opportunities for the businesses who choose to join.
Top Tech Yorkshire 2025 will officially launch at a panel event at Leeds Digital Festival on Tuesday 17 September.
Mills & Reeve partner Alex Newman, who is leading the programme, said: “Top Tech was a firm favourite among the region’s tech community, and, in previous years, we received large numbers of entries from businesses keen to be ranked in the coveted Top Tech Yorkshire report.
“However, since the last report, we’ve listened to the Yorkshire tech community and developed a broader, more ambitious programme for supporting and connecting tech businesses and those who can help them.
“The Yorkshire region has a wealth of innovative, fast-growing tech companies and, while we believe it is important to showcase the achievements of these pioneering and innovative businesses, we’re committed to playing a pivotal role in bringing together everyone together in the tech community.”
Iain Marlow, head of investments at Traditum, said: “Technology and innovation in technology is more critical than it has ever been to the UK economy. The UK’s ability to compete and lead at the forefront of technological advancement will play a critical role in keeping the UK relevant in the global economy over the coming years. The pace of development in this sector has never been greater. There has never been a better time to invest in technology – and yet there has barely been a more challenging time to raise capital.
“Many entrepreneurs in this industry will know all too well that the barriers to start-up can be low, but the barriers to success may appear at times to be insurmountable. Success requires more than a great idea and the technical expertise to deliver them – it requires the support, collaboration and sponsorship of a whole community. This is what The Mills & Reeve Top Tech initiative can deliver and I, along with the rest of the team at Traditum, am proud to be supporting this extraordinary community here in Yorkshire.”
Entries will close on 8 November. The companies who make it into the Top Tech will be revealed at an event in the New Year. The report will be published on TheBusinessdesk.com and will be available to download.
