Here at Style, we’re all about bringing you exclusive, behind-the-scenes content from the world’s hottest, most happening events, from first looks at the very best of luxury today to a front-row seat at the most-talked-about fashion shows every season.
That’s why, last night, we were thrilled to invite an intimate crowd of Hong Kong’s most influential tastemakers to our very own Style Backstage event at the Regent Hong Kong, offering a sneak peek at what makes our magazine special, from the who’s who of our pages to the team putting those pages together every month.
That crowd is also testament to the talented community we’ve built since our revamp last year.
Thanks to familiar faces like Sarah Fung, founder of Hong Kong’s popular preloved luxury hub Hula, Wil Fang, the brains behind enterprises like Cookie DPT, and so many more, the energy in the room was electric – full of those deep, thoughtful creative conversations we love to spark with our editorials.
In partnership with carmaker BMW, which also provided some luxury cars to ferry guests to the venue, the event brought these cultural entrepreneurs together for an evening of connection, celebration, and – of course – fashion.
No backstage party would be complete without some photo ops, where we caught up with several of our esteemed guests to hear more about their favourite fashion memories. “My most memorable backstage experience is when a model didn’t show up,” said designer Vivienne Tam, wearing one of her very own pieces. “We had to find a replacement. It was so crazy … we were running out of time!”
It’s safe to say that those adrenaline-rush moments, from the unforgettable shoots to the last-minute production crunches, are what motivate our daily work at Style as well.
When you have the strong support of a community like this one, after all, the work never gets boring. Here’s to another great fashion-fuelled memory for the books.
