Speaking after her match, Gauff claimed that she was one of the best players in the world. This win marked her second consecutive victory against the Polish star after failing to defeat her in their previous nine encounters.
“I have the belief that I’m one of the best players in the world. Today, I think I played some great tennis. I’m glad to get a point on board for team USA. It was tough today, I’m not gonna lie. There’s a lot of Polish fans. I appreciate the atmosphere. Thank you to the US fans. Especially the ones up here that were carrying,” Gauff said.

Naomi Osaka heartbroken after her ASB Classic final withdrawal
Naomi Osaka had to withdraw from the ASB Classic Final in Auckland due to an injury mid-match. The Japanese star was chasing her first title in more than two years in the first tournament of the season.
Speaking to the media after the match, Osaka joked that she should have stuck to her pre-match superstitions instead of skipping her breakfast. The Japanese was disappointed with how her tournament ended but thanked the fans for their support in New Zealand.
“Now that you mention it, I didn’t eat breakfast today so maybe that’s why I should stick to my superstitions.I want to thank everyone for welcoming me to such a beautiful city. I had a lot of fun playing here. I’m really sorry about how it ended. I hope you enjoyed the tennis that we did play, I’m just really grateful to be here,” Naomi Osaka said.

Paula Badosa reveals why she did not play doubles with Aryna Sabalenka in Brisbane
Paula Badosa revealed the reason why she did not team up with Aryna Sabalenka for doubles in Brisbane. Instead, Badosa opted to play with Ons Jabeur during the doubles tournament in the first event of the new season.
Badosa claimed that the reason she chose to compete with Jabeur was that she wanted to get some match practice before the Australian Open. She further added that her close friendship with Jabeur helped her in choosing her over Aryna Sabalenka.
“Well, we just played doubles, decided to play doubles sometimes when we need some matches. I think it helps each other. With Ons, I have a great relationship. Also with Aryna if it happens also, but I think she doesn’t need a lot of matches right now (smiling). She’s good with that,” Badosa said.

Sebastian Korda reveals frustration during his injury layoff.
Sebastian Korda recently spoke up about his mental strength during his injury layoff. The American last played at the US Open and announced his withdrawal from the Brisbane International.
In his pre-tournament press conference in Adelaide, Korda revealed that he was frustrated due to his injuries, and it affected his mental health. However, the American remained positive and accepted the injuries as a part of the game.
“Definitely pretty pissed off. You try to move on as fast as possible, surround yourself with good people, try to stay positive. But yeah, I guess it’s a long process. I guess it’s one that every athlete goes through. Yeah, you just try to deal with it the best you can,” Korda said.
