Manx tennis player back in action in Nottingham tomorrow
Isle of Man tennis player Billy Harris has moved into the top 200 in the ATP world rankings after reaching the semi-finals of the Surbiton Trophy.
It’s the first time the 29-year-old has reached the last four of an ATP Challenger 125 event.
He lost 6-4 6-4 in the semis to eventual champion Lloyd Harris, having overcome former world number 39 Mikhail Kukushkin in the quarters.
Harris described his run at the event as one of his best weeks, crediting the support of the crowd with helping him reach the last four.
It moves Harris up 18 places in the world rankings to 183, making him the British number seven.
He’ll be back in action tomorrow when he takes on world number 170 Chak Wong in the first round of the Challenger event at Nottingham, where the top seed is British number one Cameron Norrie.
