Deputy Premier, Foreign Minister and
centre-right post Berlusconi Forza Italia (FI) party leader
Antonio Tajani said ahead of the THursday-Friday EU summit on
top EU jobs that there was still no decision on Italy’s vote for
the proposed trio of confirmed European Commission President
Ursula von der Leyen of Germany, new European Council chair
Antonio Costa of Portugal, and new foreign policy chief Kaja
Kallas of Estonia.
“There is no decision yet on Italy’s vote” on EU top jobs,
“negotiations have yet to start”, said Tajani on his arrival at
the European Peoples’ Party (EPP) pre-summit.
Premier Giorgia Meloni has accused EU leaders of acting like
“oligarchs” allegedly ingoring the will of the EU elecorate.
