RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) – Rapid City Stevens girls tennis continues its dominate this season, winning Saturday’s Rapid City Invite by over 50 points. The Raiders won 25 of 27 matches and seven of nine flights. On Friday, Stevens played in five singles finals, winning them all, and on Saturday, it played in all three doubles championships. Mitchell, Sioux Falls Christian, Rapid City Christian and Brandon Valley round out the Top 5 in the final standings.
“They we’re all supporting each other,” Stevens head coach Jason Olson said of his team. “As soon as one match got done, they’d move to somebody else, move to somebody else’s. And the same thing with doubles…Nobody goes through what these tennis kids go through with how much they’ve played in the last couple of days, no other sport. And it’s amazing how resilient they are…”
Stevens plays next on Thursday against Rapid City Christian at Sioux Park.
