The Pittsburgh Steelers have struggled up front for the last three years.
Since 2021, Pittsburgh has gone through the likes of Kendrick Green and Mason Cole at center, while also having poor showings from Dan Moore at left tackle. However, it looks like the Steelers are getting back on the right track on the offensive line. They drafted tackle Troy Fautanu and center Zach Frazier in the first two rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft, and it sounds like they will be moving Broderick Jones back to his natural spot at left tackle with Fautanu battling with Moore at right tackle.
In their preseason rankings, PFF likes the direction the Steelers are going and ranked their offensive line as the ninth best in the NFL.
“The Steelers spent back-to-back first-round picks on offensive tackles and then selected center Zach Frazier in the second round of this year’s draft,” PFF analyst Zoltan Buday wrote. “Those investments should pay off soon, and the team already got solid play from its guards in 2023. Isaac Seumalo, who Pittsburgh signed as a free agent last year, put together a good 2023 season after some initial struggles and finished the year as the 12th-highest-graded guard in the NFL.”
The ceiling is very high for the Steelers’ offensive line, which also elevates the floor and ceiling for the offense overall.
