The Pittsburgh Steelers have a respectable collection of talent on their defensive line.
Cam Heyward is a three-time All-Pro and still a top 10 player at his position, while Keeanu Benton is a rising star and Larry Ogunjobi is a respected veteran who appeared in all 17 games last season.
Off the edge, the Steelers have one of the most dominant pass rush duos in the NFL in three-time sack leader T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith.
This collection of talent landed Pittsburgh as the eighth-ranked defensive line in PFF’s rankings.
“T.J. Watt is one of the most consistent playmakers in the league when it comes to pass-rushers, and he’s not a one-man-band on this defensive line,” PFF’s Sam Monson wrote. “Alex Highsmith on the other side has developed into an outstanding player in his own right, earning a 90.3 PFF grade last season with 69 quarterback pressures. Cameron Heyward has been outstanding for so long, but last season was the first sign that perhaps age is catching up with him. If he bounces back, the Steelers will be even better than this ranking.”
The Steelers will have to add younger talent in 2025, with both Heyward and Ogunjobi both potentially being gone next season. Right now, though, they have a very solid unit of talent.
