WAUSAU – It’s been a stat-stuffing start for some basketball players within the Central Wisconsin area.
Boys and girls basketball has gotten off to frenzied beginnings, and players are already rising to the occasion to will their teams to victory.
Here is a look at the top basketball performances from Nov. 30- Dec. 2.
Jada Seubert, Stevens Point:
Seubert scored 23 points and added seven rebounds, four steals, and three blocks in a blowout win over Waupun.
Hailey Hargraves, Columbus Catholic:
Hargraves recorded six points, three steals, and 15 assists in the win over Nekoosa.
Izzy Holz, Columbus Catholic:
Holz led the Dons in scoring with 14 points and added seven rebounds, five assists, and nine steals in Columbus Catholic’s 51-11 win over Nekoosa.
Jordan Jaglinski, Assumption:
Jaglinski shot six-for-11 from 3-point range to help lead Assumption in points against Pittsville on Nov. 30.
Addi Vollert, Assumption:
Vollert added nine points, four assists, and eight steals in Assumption’s win over Pittsville.
Taylor Klingbeil, Medford girls basketball:
In the first 2 games of her sophomore season, Klingbeil averaged 20.0 pts, 3.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and two steals. While shooting an efficient 50 percent from 3-point range, Klingbeil scored a career-high 26 points in Medford’s 53-38 win over Chippewa Falls on Nov. 21.
Jaedyn Zdroik, Pacelli girls basketball:
The sophomore, Zdroik, missed a quadruple-double by one steal in a stellar game against Manawa on Nov. 25. She finished recording 19 points, 11 rebounds, 12 assists, and nine steals.
Taelyn Jirschelle, Mosinee girls basketball:
Jirschelle scored 27 points while knocking down five 3-pointers. She finished adding three rebounds, three assists, and one steal against Shawano on Nov. 26
Kaela Clerveaux, Merrill girls basketball:
Clerveaux scored 33 points to help Merrill beat Ashland 82-51 on Nov. 26. She also added 13 rebounds, three assists, four steals and one block.
JT Schlaefer, Assumption:
Schlaefer led Assumption in scoring against Nekoosa on Nov. 30, scoring 25 points while adding eight rebounds and five assists.
Jesse Napgezek, Wausau East boys basketball:
Napgezek scored 19 points and had 12 rebounds, four assists, three steals, and two blocks on Nov. 29 against Eau Claire North. He then scored 25 points and had four rebounds, four assists, three steals, and one block. Then followed it up with 31 points, eight rebounds, and nine steals on Dec. 3 against New London.
Treve Stoffel, Mosinee:
Stoffel scored 26 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four blocks against Milwaukee Golda Mier on Nov. 30.
Matthew Gudel, Pittsville basketball:
Gudel shot 8-for-11 from the field en route to a 19-point double-double with 10 rebounds against New Libson on Dec. 2.
Brayden Reinke, Mosinee:
Reinke narrowly missed a triple-double on Nov. 30, recording 18 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.
Casey Stuedemann, D.C. Everest boys basketball:
Stuedemann completed a stat-stuffing performance against Superior on Nov. 29, scoring five points while adding nine rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.
Sebastian Andersen, Mosinee boys basketball:
Anderson shot an efficient 8-for-10 en route to scoring 24 points, to go with nine rebounds, four assists, five steals, and one block against Milwaukee Golda Meir on Nov. 30.
