Sri Lanka has secured the 9th spot on BBC Travel’s list of the “25 Best Places to Travel in 2025.” 

Journalist Claire Turrell praised the island for its breathtaking tea plantations, historic temples, abundant wildlife, and world-class surf spots.

Amid recent challenges, Sri Lanka is driving recovery through tourism, highlighted by major developments such as Kandy’s first seven-star hotel, a $1 billion mega-resort in Colombo, and the introduction of the new airline, Air Ceilão.
