No. 1 South Carolina women’s basketball faces No. 6 UCLA in Pauley Pavilion (4 p.m. ET, FS1) as these two powerhouses battle for the first time since the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
The Gamecocks (5-0) have a 4-1 record vs the Bruins (4-0) and beat UCLA twice during the 2022-23 season. South Carolina won 73-64 on Nov. 29, 2022, and then 59-43 in the NCAA Tournament in March 2023.
Coach Dawn Staley carried her team to a program record on Wednesday night with 43-straight wins, beating the previous wining-streak of 42 that was snapped at the end of the 2022-23 season. The Gamecocks defeated Clemson 77-45, and the Bruins beat Arkansas 101-52 on Nov. 17.

UCLA 80, South Carolina 76: If this game was in February, it’s a different story but it’s early and South Carolina hasn’t played a complete game yet, especially on offense. Raven Johnson and Chloe Kitts will need to be productive on offense, and Ashlyn Watkins will have to defend Lauren Betts well in the paint to win.
