India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana has risen in the ICC Women’s ODI rankings. She climbed three spots to reach second place. Her T20I ranking also improved, moving up one position to third. These advancements follow her strong performances against Australia and the West Indies.
The left-hander scored 105 in the final match of the series against Australia in Perth and followed it up with 54 in the first game of the ongoing T20I series against the West Indies in Mumbai, leading the latest rankings update released on Tuesday.
She is currently the only Indian batter within the top 10 of the ODI rankings. Harmanpreet Kaur, India’s captain, dropped two places to 13th. Jemimah Rodrigues climbed six spots to 15th. Harleen Deol also saw a significant jump, moving up nine places to 64th.
In the bowling rankings, Deepti Sharma’s position declined. She dropped two spots to fifth.
Arundhati Reddy, the Indian seam bowler, experienced a substantial rise in the rankings. She moved up 48 places to 51st, owing to her impressive four-wicket haul. Renuka Thakur also improved her ranking, moving from 28th to joint 26th.
Tammy Beaumont, the English opener, advanced two positions to 11th. Her unbeaten 65 was instrumental in England’s series win against South Africa.
Ashleigh Gardner climbed one place to 16th after scoring a half-century in Perth. Tahlia McGrath advanced from 32nd to 24th following an unbeaten 56. Annabel Sutherland made a notable jump of 15 places to 29th after a match-winning 110 runs.
Gardner also improved her bowling ranking, moving up two spots to equal her career-best third position. This rise was due to her impressive five-wicket haul. Her all-rounder ranking also saw improvement, moving from fourth to second. Sutherland is now ranked within the top 20 bowlers.
Other bowlers who saw positive movement in the rankings include South Africa’s Marizanne Kapp. Kapp gained two slots to reach fourth place after taking three wickets for 24 runs.
Several English bowlers also moved up in the rankings. Charlie Dean advanced two places to seventh, Nat Sciver Brunt climbed one place to 16th, and Lauren Bell rose four places to 21st.
Kaur moves back into top 10
In the T20I rankings, Kaur remains in the top 10, while Rodrigues has climbed six spots to secure the 15th position after her impressive 73 against the West Indies.
In the bowling rankings, Deepti has moved up two places to claim the second spot, and Titas Sadhu has risen to 52nd.
For the West Indies, all-rounder Deandra Dottin has jumped 21 places to 59th following her half-century, while Qiana Joseph has advanced 22 spots to 65th among batters. Among bowlers, Karishma Ramharack has moved up six places to reach 20th position.
