Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, Georgia’s Carson Beck, Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel and Texas’ Quinn Ewers lead the top-ranked quarterbacks in EA Sports College Football 25.
Sanders and Beck are the top-rated players at 93 overall, while Gabriel and Ewers come in at 92 overall. They’re followed by four quarterbacks at 90 overall.
College Football 25 Top QBs
Sanders is the highest-profile quarterback in the country after his breakout first season at Colorado. He threw for 3,230 yards and 27 touchdowns against three interceptions.
The son of Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, Sanders is considered a Heisman favorite and a potential first-round pick. He began his career at FCS Jackson State, throwing for 70 touchdowns in two seasons.
Beck doesn’t have the national recognition that Sanders does, but he arguably has just as strong of a game. The Georgia product threw for 3,941 yards and 24 touchdowns against six interceptions in his first year as a starter, completing 72.4 percent of his passes.
Beck is expected to compete with Sanders to be the top quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft, though he’s not much of a Heisman contender given Georgia’s playing style.
Gabriel is coming off a breakout season, but he’ll also be making the switch from Oklahoma to Oregon for this season. The lefty compiled 42 total touchdowns last season for the Sooners and arrives at Oregon hoping to follow in the footsteps of Bo Nix, who was a first-round pick of the Denver Broncos in April. Like Nix, Gabriel comes to Oregon as a transfer and will be one of the oldest players in the country in 2024.
Ewers, by contrast, doesn’t turn 22 until March despite seeming like he’s been in the college football limelight forever. He finally matched his hype with his production in 2023, throwing for 3,479 yards and 22 touchdowns against six interceptions while leading Texas to the College Football Playoff.
EA Sports is releasing its first college football game since 2013 on July 19. The company shut down the production of its college sports releases after being sued over the use of the name, image and likeness of players at a time when players were not allowed to be compensated for NIL.
EA Sports announced plans to revive the series when the NCAA began allowing players to make money using their naming rights.
The game is considered one of the most anticipated sports releases in history.
