A beginners chase that promises to be hugely informative takes place at 12:30 at Punchestown on Saturday, as the top novice hurdler from last season makes his debut over the bigger obstacles.

Ballyburn should prove very difficult to beat for Willie Mullins, with Paul Townend booked to take the ride.

The six-year-old won four from five starts over hurdles, including a 13-length demolition in the G1 Gallagher Novices’ Hurdle.
