ALEXANDRIA, VA—Last night at the Hotel Westin in Old Town Alexandria, business owners were perched on the edges of their seats as the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce announced the winners of the annual “Best in Business” awards, presented by Burke & Herbert Bank, honoring 2024 Business Leader of the Year Patricia Washington.
330 people donned their best business attire and listened as the 2024 Event Chair and presenting sponsor, Joe Collom of Burke & Herbert Bank, welcomed everyone and sang praises for the nominees. The various business winners are selected by an anonymous committee of past winners. This committee scores applications based on business overview, charitable contributions, company culture, and excellence. The Chamber ALX’s Executive Committee selects the Business Leader of the Year based on the individual’s or and business’ operations within the community, professional accomplishment, charitable involvement and contributions, reputation, and chamber engagement.
