In 2023, the Ravens finished with the NFL’s best regular-season record and the league’s leading rushing offense. Baltimore lost Kevin Zeitler, John Simpson, Odell Beckham, Gus Edwards, J.K. Dobbins, Devin Duvernay, and others in free agency, while Morgan Moses was traded to the Jets.
The team recovered by signing Derrick Henry to a two-year deal and re-signing wide receiver Nelson Agholor.
PFF recently ranked the top 32 players in the NFL at several offensive position groups, and we’re tracking where the Ravens players landed.
Only Patrick Mahomes landed ahead of the reigning MVP on PFF’s top 32 quarterbacks list.
Three quarterbacks have won MVP since 2018: Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson — each twice. In a new offense in 2023, Jackson earned the highest single-season passing grade of his career (83.0). He also passed for a career-high 4,102 yards with a career-best 25 big-time throws.
All that happened while he kept his turnover-worthy play rate below 3.0% and added unmatched rushing ability. Jackson is in a tier with Joe Burrow and Josh Allen, but if we’re ranking these guys, I wouldn’t be giving Jackson the respect he has earned if I didn’t put him at No. 2 as the reigning MVP.
Only Christian McCaffrey lands ahead of King Henry on PFF’s top 32 list
Like Barkley, Derrick Henry will be plying his trade on a new team for the first time in his NFL career, after eight wildly successful seasons with the Tennessee Titans. Henry rushed for 1,167 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on a 4.2 yards per carry clip in 2023, earning a 90.1 grade — the third highest among NFL running backs.
Age and a lack of production in the passing game hold Henry back, but he’s staved off Father Time longer than most running backs could only dream of. The Henry-Lamar Jackson pairing in 2024 should keep defenses awake at night.
Wide receiver is a position filled with a ton of star power, and Baltimore had no player make the PFF list, including second-year pass catcher Zay Flowers.
Injuries didn’t stop Andrews from landing in the top 3 of PFF’s tight ends list. Likely had a breakout campaign in 2023.
Injuries hindered Andrews’ 2023 season, but when he is healthy and on the field, he remains one of the best tight ends in the game. He was the third-highest-graded tight end in 2023, and his three-year grade of 91.0 is up there with Kelce’s and Kittle’s.
As long as Andrews stays healthy, the Ravens have a distinct advantage over most opponents in the middle of the field.
When Andrews went down to injury in 2023, Likely stepped up and provided some quality games, ultimately earning a 75.5 PFF grade and averaging 1.60 yards per route run. If not for Andrews, we might see Likely produce at a high level in a full-time role, but as things stand, he’s limited in what he can produce.
