The Green Bay Packers have a young weapon on offense who is a lot more dangerous than people realize, according to a prominent NFL analyst.
With quarterback Jordan Love poised for a big year, Green Bay’s offense is expected to be formidable. Love is growing more comfortable as a decision-maker at the NFL level, and he has an array of talented receivers at his disposal.
One of those options is second-year tight end Luke Musgrave, whom the Packers selected out of Oregon State in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft at No. 42 overall.
Musgrave had a decent rookie season, catching 34 passes for 352 yards and one touchdown in 11 games played, but he could be on the verge of greatness in 2024, according to ESPN’s senior NFL writer Jeremy Fowler.
Fowler appeared on Sportscenter on Saturday singing Musgrave’s praises. While Musgrave currently sits at No. 25 in ESPN’s 2024 PPR Tight End Rankings, Fowler explained how many experts have Musgrave much higher on their list of the best tight ends in football.
“Here’s a sleeper option for you,” Fowler said. “I don’t know if he’s quite a sleeper because he was a day two pick a year ago in the draft: Luke Musgrave. He’s certainly got the most upside of any tight end because he’s a super athlete. Jordan Love loves throwing his way. They have in Green Bay a lot of options … that kind of waters down the volume share, but this is a tight end that many feel that by the end of this coming year will be in that top-10 tight end discussion.”
NFL careers can be defined or destroyed in just one year, and it appears that Musgrave has a chance to make a name for himself this coming season.
If Musgrave can deliver at the level that Fowler suggests, Green Bay’s offense has lethal potential.
