The New Jersey High School Boys Basketball season continues. However, while the competition intensifies, Bergen Catholic remains on top of the New Jersey On3 Composite Rankings. Likewise, they are the only team from ‘The Garden State’ in the nationwide top 100. Here’s how New Jersey’s top team fared after another round of action.

It includes Massey, Max Preps, Cal Preps, ESPN, and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced High School Team Ranking.
The Crusaders dominated St. Joseph Regional in their Jan. 16 New Jersey high school boys basketball game 82-53. Declan Wucherpfennig was unstoppable, scoring 26 points and pulling 11 rebounds. Jaden Brown and Julius Avent added 13 points each, while Brown collected eight rebounds. The nation’s 76th-best team can extend their winning streak to four games against Paramus Catholic on Jan. 23.
The Ironmen extended their winning streak to four games after defeating Hudson Catholic 76-66. Brady Loughlin led the way with 25 points, while Jaylen Lewis and Jordan Ghee added 14 points apiece. Don Bosco Prep could improve to 9-4 if they defeated DePaul on Jan. 24.
The Purple Rose escaped Montgomery in the Jimmy V Classic 50-48. Jayden Hodge tallied 19 points, five rebounds, and five steals. Meanwhile, Bryan Ebling finished with 11 points, three rebounds, and three steals. St. Rose will put their 8-4 record on the line against Manasquan on Jan. 22.
The Lions improved to 10-3 after defeating Westfield 67-58. Tyrese Hunter had 24 points, six rebounds, and two steals, while Trevon Lewis had 18 points and three blocks. Roselle Catholic can extend their winning streak to five games by defeating Union on Jan. 23.
The Buccaneers lost to Worcester Academy in a recent tournament 67-63. Before that loss, they defeated Pennsylvania’s Hill Blues 75-65. Blair returns to action in the 2024-25 New Jersey high school boys basketball season against Hun on Jan. 22.
The Marauders are on an 11-game winning streak after defeating Seton Hall Prep 65-51. In that Dennis Gregory Memorial Classic Showcase game, Richie Rosa led the way with 17 points and seven assists. Erik Porch contributed 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Likewise, Keiner Asprilla added 12 points and 10 rebounds. St. Peter’s Prep will continue their season against Hudson Catholic on Jan. 23.
The Fighting Celtics have four registered games, the last of which was against Colorado’s Skyline, which they won 99-46. They also defeated Arizona’s Bella Vista Prep, Massachusetts’ Springfield Commonwealth Academy, and New York’s Knox.
After losing back-to-back games against Bergen Catholic and Don Bosco Prep, the Hawks defeated Bloomfield 57-33. In this Dennis Gregory Memorial Classic Showcase game, Keith McKnight tallied 24 points, while Omari Moore and Rashad Robinson Jr. had eight points apiece. Hudson Catholic can start another winning streak by defeating St. Peter’s Prep on Jan. 23.
The Minutemen are still among the top teams in New Jersey high school boys basketball despite losing two consecutive games. However, Jordan Torres had 19 points, while Jayden Johnson and Luis Cuero had eight points each. Elizabeth returns to action in the 2024-25 New Jersey high school boys basketball season against Linden on Jan. 23.
St. Patrick defeated Woodbury in their Jan. 13 game 71-55. They’ve also defeated other teams like Hun, St. Rose, Life Center, and Camden this season. They will face College Achieve Ashbury Park on Feb. 7.
