COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — New research has revealed that becoming a Realtor is the most sought-after dream job in Ohio, according to a study conducted by resume experts at BeamJobs. The study analyzed average monthly Google searches in Ohio over the past year, focusing on phrases like “become a” and “how to become a.”
The findings show that “Realtor” topped the list with 1,754 average monthly searches. For those interested (which, apparently, there are a lot of you) to become a Realtor, one must first complete the necessary education to become a licensed real estate agent, join the local NAR association, and pay membership fees.
Travel Agent ranked second, with an average of 1,307 searches each month.
Electrician was the third most common dream job, with 945 average monthly searches.
Firefighter came in fourth, with an average of 922 searches each month.
Rounding out the top five is Ultrasound Technician with 783 average monthly searches.
Stephen Greet, Co-founder and CEO of BeamJobs, was fascinated with the results.
“It’s fascinating to learn that many jobs typically associated with glamour and fame, such as actors and models, have not landed in Ohio’s ranking of the most common dream jobs,” Greet said. “Instead, some of the most sought-after jobs are grounded in stability and helping others, which reflects that the Ohio workforce wishes to spend time in their career making a significant impact within their community.”
