SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – The Notre Dame women’s basketball team took quite a tumble in this week’s Associated Press women’s basketball poll after suffering two upsets last week.
The Fighting Irish (5-2), who were third last week, fell seven places to 10th after back-to-back losses to No. 17 TCU and unranked Utah in the Cayman Islands Classic.
Things don’t get any easier this week for the Fighting Irish as they will host No. 4 Texas in the SEC/ACC Challenge on Thursday night. They will also travel to Syracuse on Sunday for their first ACC matchup of the season.
As for other regional teams, Michigan and Michigan State are both ranked for the first time in this week’s poll at No. 23 and No. 24 respectively.
