EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern Sullivan-Ubben Head Men’s Basketball Coach Chris Collins announced the Wildcats’ 2025 five-member signing class, which has been ranked No. 10 nationally by 247Sports, the highest class ranking in program history during the modern recruiting era. The lauded class includes Center Cade Bennerman (Nashville, Tenn.), guard Phoenix Gill (Chicago, Ill.), forward Tyler Kropp (Powell, Ohio), forward Tre Singleton (Jeffersonville, Ind.) and guard Jake West (Philadelphia, Pa).

What Coach Collins is Saying: Cade is a huge upside player. He’s long, athletic, and has skill with good hands and feet. Cade can run the floor at his size, play at the high post, make shots and handle the ball. We feel his best days are ahead of him, and really looking forward to seeing his growth in our program.

Phoenix Gill | G | 6-3 | Chicago, Ill. | St. Ignatius

Rated a three-star prospect, the No. 5 player in Illinois and the No. 39 shooting guard in the country by 247Sports … Averaged 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and nearly two steals per game as a junior for St. Ignatius … As a sophomore he averaged 11.7 points, three rebounds and 2.7 assists per game for a St. Ignatius team that won 24 games and finished fourth in the Class 3A state tournament … Played for Mokan Elite on the Nike EYBL circuit … Chose Northwestern over Illinois, Iowa State, Stanford and others.

 

What Coach Collins is Saying: Phoenix is another Chicago product that we’re excited to add. He’s been around the game his whole life. Phoenix is a combo guard who’s athletic, can attack the basket and play with the ball in his hands. He’s a terrific two-way guard that we’re really looking forward to getting here to Northwestern.

What Coach Collins is Saying: Tyler is a rugged, old school, skilled forward and fits the mold of guys we’ve had over the past couple years. He’s very versatile, can score inside and out and has a great feel of the game. He has played internationally for Argentina at a high level, and we really feel like he’s going to fill a great role for future Wildcat teams.
