Mr Chester said there had been a lot of domestic and international sporting action over the last year.

“From those competing at Olympic level to some of our young sports stars just starting out on their sporting careers, these awards celebrate the very best of local talent,” he said.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for all sports to put forward their top teams, coaches or individuals for one of the awards and I would encourage all local sporting organisations to get nominating.

“We want the evening to be a real celebration of the breadth and depth of sport here in Guernsey and share some of the stories around the top performances of the last 12 months.”

The criteria for each award are available on the Commission’s website, external where there is a simple online nomination form to complete.
