The Packers have started to take flight, averaging nearly 30 points per game over their past four contests. The Texans, meanwhile, have lost Nico Collins to the IR and looked underwhelming for large portions of their road game against rookie Drake Maye in New England on Sunday.
The current iteration of the Patriots cannot adequately prepare a team for a matchup with Jordan Love, Jayden Reed and the Pack at Lambeau Field. C.J. Stroud is a very good QB, but he’s not quite good enough to escape Green Bay with a victory without his top receiver.
The Pack have been pretty good on defense, too. They held the Rams to 19 two weeks ago and limited Kyler Murray and company to 13 in Week 6. Look for Matt LaFleur’s guys to stifle the Houston running game and force Stroud into some tough passes, with Love prevailing like a Netflix rom-com.
SCORE PREDICTION: Packers 27, Texans 22
Other Week 7 spreads worth a look: Buccaneers +3.5 vs. Ravens (-110 on BetMGM and Caesars); Mini-parlay (-125): Patriots +7.5 (vs. Jaguars) and Commanders -6.5 (vs. Panthers)
The Chiefs are lucky to be 5-0, while the 49ers have been a little unlucky in their three losses. San Francisco turned on the afterburners in a big W in Seattle on Thursday, now they get the luxury of a much-needed mini-bye to prepare for their Super Bowl rematch against the Chiefs — who are coming off a bye week.
Many will point to the record discrepancy and the Niners’ plethora of injuries, but let’s remember that Kansas City needed an Isaiah Likely toe out of bounds against the Ravens and a questionable DPI against the Bengals to escape two close games with victories. And before putting 26 on the downtrodden Saints in Week 5 (while going a paltry 2-7 on TDs in the red zone), KC underwhelmed with point totals of 17 and 22 against the Chargers and Falcons.
Let’s also remember that the Chiefs are even more banged up than San Fran, with lead back Isiah Pacheco and top wideout Rashee Rice both on the IR. Fred Warner and the Niners have an elite D, home-field advantage, George Kittle is a touchdown monster, and Brock Purdy is cooking.
FINAL SCORE PREDICTION: 49ers 26, Chiefs 20
Other Week 7 moneylines to consider: Lions +105 at Vikings (BetMGM); Steelers -120 vs. Jets (BetMGM)
We can’t wait for this epic duel. Usually we go UNDER in primetime games — the under is 45-30-3 on late kicks since the start of last season — but we can’t possibly see this one going under 48 points. Baker Mayfield is playing the best football of his life, two-time MVP Lamar Jackson has the best supporting cast of his career, and these teams have combined to average over 59 points per game. Get in on this fun OVER before the sharps bet it up to the low 50s!
FINAL SCORE PREDICTION: Bucs 28, Ravens 27
Other strong Week 7 over/under bets: Chargers at Cardinals: UNDER 43.5 (-110 on BetMGM and Caesars); Panthers at Commanders: UNDER 52 (-110 on BetMGM and Caesars); Dolphins (at Colts): Miami team total UNDER 20 (shop around)
As always, player and game props will be added once the sportsbooks post them. Props typically drop by Tuesday evening/Wednesday morning. Be sure to check back!
