The Cincinnati Bengals are 0-3 and coming off a demoralizing home loss to the Washington Commanders. And while things are bleak, their season will be all but over if they fail to come away victorious in Week 4 against a Panthers team that is riding high after a Week 3 win. Can the Bengals take advantage, and what will it look like? Here are the best bets for Week 4.
Odds courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook
Zack Moss Over 52.5 rushing yards
The Panthers are allowing the fourth-most rushing yards per game this season, and a big game on the ground for the Bengals would take the pressure off of Joe Burrow to be Superman for Cincinnati every week. The Bengals have to be willing to run the ball, though, as they currently average the sixth fewest rushing yards in the league despite having the eighth-most yards per carry in the NFL. They can run the ball, they just choose not to – that can’t be the case Sunday. Pound the rock.
Andy Dalton Over 226.5 passing yards
Even without Adam Thielen, the Panthers will be able to move the ball through the air. Diontae Johnson and Xavier Legette will be able to get open and help out Dalton. On top of that, if the game goes the way I think it will, the Panthers are going to have to keep passing the ball to stay within reach of the Bengals.
Over 47.5 total points
The NFL has seen a lot of low-scoring games throughout the first four weeks, but a lot of that is in large part because they don’t play starters in the preseason, so Weeks 1-4 by proxy are an extension of the preseason for a lot of teams. As we flip the calendar into October, these teams will begin to put up more points and we’ll see a few more shootouts, perhaps starting in Carolina where the Bengals will continue to put up points, and Carolina will do their best to stay close. Take the over, and if you’re feeling confident, parlay it with the Bengals covering the 4.5 point spread.
