Replacement kicker John Parker Romo hits a 45-yard field goal, his first NFL attempt, and the Vikings lead the Jaguars 3-0 in Jacksonville.

Minnesota’s regular kicker, rookie Will Reichard, has been fantastic this season, hitting 14 of 16 field goal attempts and going 23-for-23 on extra points. But Reichard suffered a leg injury last week, and the Vikings re-signed Romo, who spent time with the franchise this summer. And undrafted free agent out of Virginia Tech, Romo starred with the San Antonio Brahmas of the XFL in 2023, making 17 of 19 field goals and being named all-XFL.

He’ll be interesting to watch today, particularly if the game remains close.
