Bill Belichick is still filling out his staff as head coach of the UNC football program as he begins his first full week on the job. While the Tar Heels have hired Michael Lombardi as a general manager, there is still coaching positions open.
And Belichick appears to be going back to the NFL to land an offensive coordinator.
On Sunday, Ian Rapoport reported that Las Vegas Raiders offensive coordinator Scott Turner has emerged as a top candidate to be North Carolina’s offensive coordinator. Turner has served as the offensive coordinator for the Raiders after taking over for Luke Getsy who was fired midseason.
The Raiders have struggled on offense all season, no matter who the offensive coordinator is. To be fair to Turner, it’s not a great situation to be in either.
But Turner has coaching experience including being the offensive coordinator for the Washington Commanders from 2020-22. He also comes from a football family, as well.

With the situation in Las Vegas unclear for the future, would Turner move to the college level and take a big job working under Belichick? It sounds like a good opportunity for him to pursue.
