Las Vegas has become the latest place to celebrate the new year.

The city in the US state of Nevada brought in 2025 with fireworks launched from the rooftops of casinos.

An estimated 340,000 people are believed to have shown up on the iconic strip in the entertainment capital of the world.

Midnight has also officially struck in other states including California, Washington and Oregon. 

In Pasadena, California, people have camped out to grab the best spots to watch the annual Rose Parade – a New Year’s Day tradition which sees extravagant floats parade along Colorado Boulevard.

Hawaii and Alaska are the last two remaining US states still in 2024, and are due to ring in the new year around 9-10am UK time.
