NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball Rankings: Same Big Three End On Top – FloHoops
March is finally here, and that means all of the work done before and during the season comes down to two and a half weeks for a chance to win the NCAA Division III Women’s Basketball National Championship.
Although some teams had already begun conference tournament play while others were wrapping up their regular seasons, all teams finished conference championships last week.
Winning the conference can give teams a huge boost going into the big NCAA tournament, and it can also give them an automatic bid.
Since teams now know their fate as to where or if they place in the bracket, here is what to know about the last regular season rankings on the DIII women’s basketball season.
Its Tourney Time!!!
- Although the top three changed last week, with Scranton women’s basketball falling to No. 4, the Royals won the Landmark conference, getting two lopsided wins over Drew and Catholic in the semi-final and finals, moving back to No. 3.
- NYU and Bowdoin, of course, won their respective conferences to take undefeated records into the division tournament.
- Now, with the postseason beginning this week on March 7th, questions will finally be answered. One of the main ones is whether NYU women’s basketball will repeat as champions, as they have not lost a game in over a year.
- Another thing that will be interesting to see play out is will any of the other top three teams win the division national championship.
- NYU, Scranton, and Bowdoin have been at the top of the division throughout the whole season, but will they have a national title to show for it, especially if the Violets do not repeat as champions?
