Colt Langdon is a consensus top-150 prospect in the 2025 NCAA Basketball recruiting class, with 247sportsComposite ranking him as a four-star talent. He’s a 6’7 combo forward from the state of North Carolina, known for his versatility and overall offensive game, including as one of the better pure shooters in the class.
Langdon reportedly has a decision coming in the next couple of days, announcing his decision on July 10th. There are three teams in the mix, none of which are in North Carolina. So without location being an issue, which of them is the best potential landing spot? Here’s a closer look at how Langdon would fit with the options.
Butler has a pair of senior forwards on the roster in Jahmyl Telfort and Iowa transfer Patrick McCaffery, two stretch players with a similar style of Langdon. Unless rising sophomores Boden Kapke and Augusto Cassia break out, there’s a massive need for someone like Langdon in the 2025 class and he’d have a good shot at immediate playing time.
The frontcourt outlook for LSU features lots of veterans, including Derek Fountain, Tyrell Ward, and Jalen Reed. Incoming freshman forward Robert Miller should also feature into the rotation as well. It’s not a sure bet that Langdon would be part of the rotation in his first year but would be a nice long-term option that offers something different (spacing) to the roster.
Outside of incoming four-star forward Garrett Sundra, the frontcourt depth for the Irish are all upperclassmen, including key starter, Tae Davis. Pairing Langdon and Sundra would be a nice future frontcourt for the team, especially for Coach Micah Shrewsberry, whose offensive systems thrive with maximum spacing.
Of the three options, Butler is the team that can offer the most early playing time, while Notre Dame’s style may fit best with Colt Langdon. We’ll see soon which team he decides to commit to.
