It’s Friday, Feb. 7. We have seven games on the NBA slate, including a nationally televised game on ESPN between the Philadelphia 76ers and Detroit Pistons at 7:30 p.m. ET.
A ton of players changed zip codes after the NBA trade deadline earlier this week. A lot of them will make their debuts and many will see changing roles with their respective new teams. Here are our top NBA DFS lineup picks and advice for tonight’s slate of games.
Victor Wembanyama is the most expensive healthy player on the board. He enters this game in Charlotte scoring 54.5 fantasy points per game. He is facing a Hornets defense with an opponent rank of 28.
You generally get what you pay for when rostering Wembanyama. The second-year big man has nine straight double-doubles and is averaging 25.5 points, 11 rebounds per game, 3.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game while posting two 3-pointers made per game. He posted 26 points with 11 boards and a pair of 3-pointers with two blocked shots in 20 minutes in a rout of the Hornets last season in his only previous appearance against them.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (PG – OKC)
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander heads into this matchup against the visiting Toronto Raptors looking to carry over momentum from his previous outing. He dropped 50 points with eight rebounds, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot with three triples in 34 minutes while hitting 18-of-29 from the field.
Normally, Gilgeous-Alexander is a strong play, but he has taken it to a new level lately, hitting at least 10 successful field goals in seven consecutive games. He is averaging 36.3 points per game in the past 21 games dating back to December 23rd. He posted 30 points on 11-of-22 from the field, while posting five assists, four rebounds, two blocked shots and two steals in the first meeting in Toronto on December 5th.
Evan Mobley heads into this matchup in Washington looking to build on the momentum of Wednesday’s solid effort in Detroit. He went for 30 points on 10-of-16 shooting while adding three triples with nine rebounds, seven assists and four blocked shots against the Pistons. It was a nice rebound from his 3-of-14 shooting night with just seven points on Tuesday against Boston.
In two previous games versus the Wizards this season, Mobley has averaged 16 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 blocks per game in 31.5 minutes per game. At this price, Mobley is a strong play.
Darius Garland is a strong target, as you’ll want a Cleveland stack after the leaky defense of Washington. The Wizards have the 29th opponent rank and Garland has posted 38.2 fantasy points per game.
This will be Garland’s fourth appearance against Washington this season. He is averaging 19.7 points with 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game with 3.0 3-pointers made per game across the three previous meetings with the Wizards.
Chet Holmgren (hip surgery) is not on the injury report for Friday’s game against the Raptors. He has been sidelined since November 10th due to a fractured right hip. While you can expect he’ll be on a pitch count, or in other words, his playing time will be rather limited, it’s still a good idea to get him in the lineup at this price against the very giving Raps.
If Holmgren isn’t able to go the entire way, Isaiah Hartenstein is still around. The 7-foot center is averaging 10.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game in three games in February. While he struggled with just two points in a 129-92 win at Toronto in the first meeting, he was able to gather 16 rebounds with six assists and a blocked shot.
Allen heads into Friday’s game at Washington looking to stay hot, and he should be able to do just that against the struggling defense of the Wizards.
The Cleveland center has managed 12.3 points, 13.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.0 steals per game across three games in February. He has managed 18.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in three previous meetings with the Wizards this season.
Chris Paul and the Spurs hit the road for the Queen City, and the veteran is back in the state he played college hoops. The Wake Forest alum is posting decent numbers for a mid-tier DFS play. He has 8.7 points, 8.0 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game with 2.0 3-pointers made per game in three games in February.
The 20-year-old went scoreless last time out in Philadelphia, but he snagged 13 rebounds with an assist in 19 minutes. Kel’el Ware has managed to average 7.7 points per game in three February games, but his calling card is his work on the glass. Ware has pulled down at least 12 boards in each of his three February outings, averaging 12.3 per game.
Bobby Portis is an especially decent value on DraftKings. He heads into this one with a respectable 29.4 fantasy points per game and faces an Atlanta team with an opponent rank of 29th. At this price, he is a solid value. Portis racked up a ridiculous 23 points with 17 rebounds, five assists, three blocked shots, two 3-pointers and one steal in 32 minutes while hitting 10-of-21 from the field Wednesday in Charlotte.
Jeremy Sochan is expected to come off the bench, but he is still a decent play at this price. He was a very sharp 7-of-8 from the field last time out in Atlanta, finishing with 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal in 27 minutes.
Max Strus came alive last time out, posting 15 points on 5-of-12 shooting, including 3-of-10 from downtown while posting six rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot with a steal. As part of your Cleveland stack, he is a strong play at this low price.
