Injuries have slowed down Zion Williamson’s career seemingly from the moment he was selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2019 NBA Draft. The 24-year-old, who is averaging 24.6 points and 6.6 rebounds over his career, is again expected to miss extended time with a hamstring injury. The Pelicans are used to playing without Williamson, so what from the previous production shifts from their options in the NBA DFS player pool can daily Fantasy basketball players take into forming a Monday NBA DFS strategy when the Pelicans play Cameron Thomas and Nets on Monday?
Jeremiah Robinson-Earl had his first start of the season on Friday with Williamson out and had 12 points and four rebounds over a season-high 32 minutes, so can he be a value play to include in NBA DFS lineups? Brandon Boston Jr. had a season-high 26 points on Friday, so he’s someone to consider as well. Before making any NBA DFS picks, be sure to check out the NBA DFS advice, player rankings, stacks, and top daily Fantasy basketball picks from SportsLine’s Mike McClure.

On Friday, McClure highlighted Grizzlies point guard Scotty Pippen Jr. as one of his top picks in his NBA DFS player pool on both sites. The result: Pippen had 11 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, returning 45.5 points on DraftKings and 40.5 points on FanDuel for NBA DFS lineups. Anybody who included him in their lineups was well on the way to a profitable day.
McClure has turned his attention to NBA action on Monday and locked in his top daily Fantasy basketball picks. You can only see them by heading to SportsLine.
For Monday, one of McClure’s top NBA DFS picks Spurs power forward/center Victor Wembanyama, who is listed at $10,500 on DraftKings and $11,400 on FanDuel. Whether it’s a coincidence or the beginning of a trend, Mondays have been kind to Wembanyama this season. The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year has had back-to-back dominant Monday night performances, posting 14 points, 20 rebounds, five assists and four blocks on October 28 followed by 24 points, 13 rebounds, three assists, three steals and nine blocks last Monday in a monstrous performance for NBA DFS lineups.
Wembanyama had 24 points, 16 rebounds and seven blocks in a 111-110 loss to the Jazz on Saturday. The 7-foot-3 phenom is averaging 18.3 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.0 blocks this year as he continues his dominance with his unusual combination of size and athleticism. The Spurs play the Kings on Monday, and Wembanyama averaged 23 points and 11 rebounds over two games against Sacramento last season.
Another part of McClure’s optimal NBA DFS strategy includes rostering Thunder guard/forward Luguentz Dort ($4,100 on DraftKings and $4,900 on FanDuel). The 25-year-old had 16 points, six rebounds and three assists on Sunday while playing 30 minutes, tied for his most minutes this season. Dort is shooting a career-best 46.3% on 3-pointers, and he’s made multiple triples in three of his last four games.
The Thunder are playing the Clippers, who enter on a four-game winning streak. The Clippers have the third-best scoring defense in the league and rank 11th in 3-point percentage against. The Clippers are a challenging defensive matchup, but that has been factored into Dort’s price. He has scored at least 16 points in four of his last eight games and at his price tag, McClure views Dort as an asset to NBA DFS lineups, especially with him likely taking on more of an offensive load with Chet Holmgren (hip) out. McClure is also targeting a player who could go off for massive numbers on Monday because of a dream matchup. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing. You can only see who it is here.
