A BRIT has been found dead at one of Majorca’s top golf courses after suffering a fatal head injury.
Cops are now investigating if the 61-year-old was hit by a stray ball or suffered a heart attack on the Son Muntaner Golf Course after he mysteriously vanished from his pals.
The unnamed tourist was found on Friday evening at around 8pm alive but in a “serious condition” with a nasty injury to his head.
He disappeared on his own during a round with his friends at the huge course to try and find a stray ball.
Initial reports said the Brit was believed to have been hit on the head by a golf ball during this time.
Cops now say he is likely to have suffered a heart attack before falling to the ground and banging his head.
A spokesman for the National Police in the Majorcan capital Palma said: “Everything is pointing to the death being from natural causes.
“It appears he suffered some cardiac episode before the fall.”
Emergency responders tried to revive the man after reaching the course after he had gone into cardiac arrest.
Attempts to save his life reportedly lasted for around half an hour as his shocked pals watched on.
They are said to have gone searching for the Brit and found him unconscious on the ground with his head badly wounded.
Officials are yet to confirm exactly how the man died with an autopsy set for this weekend.
Investigators from a local National Police Homicide Unit are heading up the investigation.
They are yet to give any official comment.
Son Muntaner is described online as a golf course that “offers both players and enthusiasts a unique experience they won’t forget.”
It is considered one of the most beautiful courses in Majorca and is the only one in the Balearic Islands apart of the prestigious European Tour Destinations association.
No-one at the course, situated between the ‘Na Burguesa’ mountain range and the bay of Palma, could be reached late last night for comment.
A number of British tourists have tragically died recently in freak accidents abroad.
A 56-year-old was left fighting for his life after trying to jump 10ft from a balcony into a swimming pool in Cyprus earlier this month.
The man attempted a daring leap off the ledge into the pool below at his villa but ended up hitting the pavement before being rushed to hospital in a serious condition.
Another Brit was rushed to hospital after plunging 15ft off his hotel balcony in Majorca.
The man was left “seriously injured” as he landed on his head in broad daylight after a row with friends.
