There goes another jibe at Deion Sanders’ prediction. Prime seemed so very confident in his son Shedeur Sanders’ abilities as a QB when he claimed “It’s going to be an Eli Manning.” Whether that stands true will only be known after the 2025 CFB season concludes, deciding if Shedeur Sanders could create the magic that his father promised he would. Nevertheless, based on his football dexterity Shedeur has been displaying on gridiron throughout the years, top NFL scouts have already begun their unmerciful judgment of the QB for the 2025 NFL draft.
Starting from the positive side, Nate Tice had some positives that defined Shedeur’s game-leading abilities. “I see a quarterback that does some nice things. He has a good arm. He definitely has been coached well,” Tice said on the GoJo & Golic podcast. But after that, started the rampage of ‘everything that Shedeur Sanders needs to work on’ list. Tice’s list was long, one in which he delivered the most callous barb first. “I looked at him more as a 3rd-rounder, more in the same tier that I personally had Bo Nix and Michael Penix Jr. and Spencer Rattler,” Tice admitted about Shedeur.
Well, he had his reasons. While he does have good arm strength, his other flaws sometimes eclipse that, per Tice. “He can feel a little bit robotic and feel a little bit mechanical when he’s in the pocket like he’s doing the drill work literally as opposed to just being a little more fluid,” Tice admitted, reiterating what other analysts have been agreeing on about the Colorado QB. Shedeur Sanders is not foreign to these types of allegations. However, recent times have presented a whole new plethora of questions to him, questioning each aspect of his QB position.

The day Deion Sanders projected Shedeur to be one of the top-5 picks in the 2025 draft is the day all the dissing heightened against him. Will Shedeur Sanders pull an Eli Manning? – That is a question everyone is going after. But being a former Broncos QB who has toiled for the position for more than 10 years, Jake Plummer knew the priorities were different when talking about the NFL terms.
Plummer knew a more ideal question for Shedeur Sanders would be – Does he really want to be remembered as ‘the greatest QB’ in the books of the NFL or he just wants to be a billionaire QB? “ I don’t know if he wants to be the greatest quarterback ever or if he wants to just make 500 to 600 million and become a billionaire. That could be what he wants. If he wants to be the greatest in the league, he’s got a long way to go,” Plummer said in the Dumb Jock podcast.
Fans know one thing for sure: the way would be really long and tumultuous if Shedeur chooses the ‘greatest QB’ path. Given competitors like Patrick Mahomes and A-Rod, the bar is set exceptionally high for the QB.
