Has had three lesser efforts since winning this nicely last year but having Haydock form is ideal for this kind of race.
He’s only up 4lb from that win now and should return to winning form amongst a field that has been struggling of late.
Idalko Bihoue carries top-weight but has also been disappointing in his last three races, while the tip goes well fresh and hasn’t been seen since six-years-old 268 days ago.
Went well at Wetherby earlier this month and is the clear favourite for a reason.
Wal Buck’s looks to have much better form than his rivals and the five-year-old looks to be progressive.
He was just a neck second to Latenightrumble at Wetherby on his first attempt at 3m over fences and subsequently upped 5lb.
Won nicely last time out despite running green and not always jumping as efficiently as he could.
Bounced back from a disappointing sixth placed finish on his hurdle debut so clearly a progressive gelding for Paul Nicholls.
Better still his win last time out came here at Taunton over 2m and is upped again to 2m3f which looks to suit well.
He also holds decent bumper form that should bode well, placing a close second behind Celtic Dino.
If this five-year-old continues to get better with his jumping he will be tough to beat despite carrying top-weight, a 7lb penalty for his win last time out against many newcomers.
Jubilee Alpha was third behind Listentoyourheart last time out and given that was her hurdle debut she appeals a lot on second start.
And now receiving 5lb from that reappearing rival she stands a great chance, though the Skelton-trained mare has now won three in a row.
Listentoyourheart was ridden out to get the win last time and Jubilee Alpha could well have taken that horse on for a battle to the line had she taken the last hurdle better.
That suggests she’s got a great chance on second time out for the top yard under Harry Cobden again, who was clearly confident on her last time, mostly hands and heels until after the last.
