Both Michigan basketball teams fell out of the AP Top 25 after lopsided losses this weekend.
The Michigan men were ranked No. 21 in last week’s poll. On Friday, they lost at then-No. 11 Purdue 91-64. It was Michigan’s only game of the week, and Monday’s rankings reflected the result. The Wolverines are just one spot out of the top 25, meaning they’ll likely get a chance to play their way back in this week.
Michigan hosts Penn State on Monday (6:31 p.m. ET, Big Ten Network) and visits Rutgers on Saturday.
The Michigan women are also just one spot outside of Monday’s rankings. They were at No. 24 last week before winning at then-No. 23 Minnesota 70-65 for their first win over a top-25 team this season.
Michigan hosted then-No. 21 Michigan State on Saturday, led by four at halftime, but lost 88-58. The Wolverines play at Wisconsin on Wednesday and hosts Oregon on Sunday, giving them a chance to return to next week’s rankings.
